March 2018 Update
Hello friends and family,
Wow it’s been a while
since I have sent out an update! I apologize about that, let me catch you all
up on what is new. Since August I have been working as a substitute teacher for
the Anchorage School District and at a private preschool in Eagle River,
between the two jobs I manage to stay busy. I have also been taking a Spanish
language class which is something I have always wanted to do and I am loving
it! Some of you may remember that about a year ago I started an online course
to get certified to teach English as a second language, well I officially have
three weeks left and then I am certified! I am so excited to be done with that.
In regards to going on to
become a midwife I do not feel like that is something I am supposed to do right
now, as some of you will remember me writing in past updates the state of
Alaska changed a lot of it’s laws regarding entry level midwives and to work internationally
in almost every country you need to be a nurse midwife, so this is something I
am not working towards right now but it is something I am praying about.
Speaking about the future
I am planning on staying in Alaska until the end of 2018 after that who knows
what is next, it’s a great big world and we serve a great big God. I do however
have an opportunity to go on a medical mission trip with Proyecto Fe to
Guatemala in April!! I am so excited to go on my first ever medical mission
trip. I will be going as support to the medical professionals, who will be giving
free medical and dental services there. I am looking forward to sharing God’s
love with anyone who will listen and can understand my broken Spanish. I do
need some financial help with this trip ($2000) so if you would like to donate
you can do so by following this link:
If you cannot donate as always, I would love your prayers!
I am so excited to get back on the foreign mission field and see how God is
moving in Guatemala! I look forward to updating you on that trip.
Ok prayer requests and praises: I am currently in a
bible study with people around my own age which has been an answer to prayer!
I am currently looking for another job as school gets
out in May, pray that I find a good one.
I am starting to pray about next year. My desire is to
get back on the mission field more long term, pray that God will reveal the
right ministry, visas, etc to me and that I would have patience to listen and
wait on His good timing. Thanks again for all you guys do!
Be blessed,
Kylee Nicholas
