June 2017 Update

Hello friends and family, Happy Summer! We have done it, we have made it to the end. This is the last week of GoMidwife Homer, AK 2017. We graduate the students on Thursday the 29 th and everyone will be heading their separate ways by July 1 st . It has been an interesting six months and God has grown me a lot though this past year. As far as staff duties it has been one of the easiest staff jobs I have had, but in regards to interpersonal relationships it has been the most difficult, but God is always faithful and he always brings life and healing if we allow him. I have grown to love Homer, AK and have been involved in an amazing church here. It will be so difficult to leave this place, but I am excited for the future and what God has in store for me next. So, what is next for Kylee? Well I am planning on leaving Homer on July 2 and moving back to Eagle River. I will be heading to northern WA in July to take a break for a couple weeks to visit my parents, process this past year...

May Update 2017

Hello friends and family,             Happy Spring! This past month has been flying by! What a month we have been having. So, some sad news, at the end of April our school leader’s father suddenly passed away. As a result, she had to leave to take some time off to process her loss and do everything that happens when you lose someone you love. As a result, the two-other staff and I have been running the school. I think we have done a pretty good job considering none of us have any medical backgrounds! One of the school leaders from the school in Hawaii has flown up to help us. It has meant some minor changes but it’s been going really well. Thanks for your prayers as I know it has been our covering in prayer that has helped things go so well!             The students are doing so great and I think most of them will make great midwives someday.
