May Update 2017
Hello friends and family,
Happy
Spring! This past month has been flying by! What a month we have been having. So,
some sad news, at the end of April our school leader’s father suddenly passed
away. As a result, she had to leave to take some time off to process her loss
and do everything that happens when you lose someone you love. As a result, the
two-other staff and I have been running the school. I think we have done a
pretty good job considering none of us have any medical backgrounds! One of the
school leaders from the school in Hawaii has flown up to help us. It has meant
some minor changes but it’s been going really well. Thanks for your prayers as
I know it has been our covering in prayer that has helped things go so well!
The
students are doing so great and I think most of them will make great midwives
someday. As some of you know I have been taking an online course to teach
English as a second language. It has been going well and I have eight weeks
left of part one. What I am learning in this class has been helping me in my
staffing here in Homer. I am currently getting ready to teach a whole week and
the lessons I am learning are helping me to prepare to be a better teacher. God
has been teaching me a lot about faith and trust. We have exactly one month
left and I have no idea what I am doing after this or where I will be, but God
is always faithful and I know he has the best planned for me. Please pray that
I will not stress over this and patiently wait on the Lord for direction.
For
my Alaska friends, it was great to see some of you over the memorial weekend. I
am not planning on leaving Homer until the last day of June after the school is
over. If any of you plan on coming down in June. Let me know!
Be Blessed,
Kylee Nicholas
