Hello friends and family, Happy Summer! We have done it, we have made it to the end. This is the last week of GoMidwife Homer, AK 2017. We graduate the students on Thursday the 29 th and everyone will be heading their separate ways by July 1 st . It has been an interesting six months and God has grown me a lot though this past year. As far as staff duties it has been one of the easiest staff jobs I have had, but in regards to interpersonal relationships it has been the most difficult, but God is always faithful and he always brings life and healing if we allow him. I have grown to love Homer, AK and have been involved in an amazing church here. It will be so difficult to leave this place, but I am excited for the future and what God has in store for me next. So, what is next for Kylee? Well I am planning on leaving Homer on July 2 and moving back to Eagle River. Hello friends and family,             Happy Spring! This past month has been flying by! What a month we have been having. So, some sad news, at the end of April our school leader’s father suddenly passed away. As a result, she had to leave to take some time off to process her loss and do everything that happens when you lose someone you love. As a result, the two-other staff and I have been running the school. I think we have done a pretty good job considering none of us have any medical backgrounds! One of the school leaders from the school in Hawaii has flown up to help us. It has meant some minor changes but it’s been going really well. Hello friends and family,              *Ok warning. Please bear with me on this one. I’ve already wrote and rewrote this letter three times. It’s hard when you have so much to say to condense it to what you are about to read. April 25, 2015. Two years ago. Man I cannot believe it’s been two years already. I was in Kathmandu, Nepal in a hotel garden when the 7.8 earthquake hit. It happened on a Saturday which was my day off. I had plans to go to this older part of town where the houses are hundreds if not thousands of years old to explore and take photos. God had other plans however. Beauty for Ashes, the company I was volunteering with at the time, had set up a booth at a local celebration for the Dutch expats. I was not required to help since it was my day off but I felt strongly that I was to give up my day off and help. Thank God literally, for the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Hello friends and family! Yes the blog looks different I thought it could use an update! Let me know if you have any problems navigating it. We are now half way done with our school! It seems crazy that we are already at this point, only three months left to go. God has still been teaching me to love the women here well. Which as you know in any relationship knowing how to love well can look different for each individual person and can sometimes be hard to do.             I have been thinking about the future and what I will do after this, and honestly, I have no idea. However, I have been enjoying the times I get to teach here and look forward to teach more. I love teaching on missions and encouraging others to get involved. I think we live in an exciting time for missions. Now more than ever the nations are coming to us, what an opportunity and privilege we have to share the love of God with them!     ...

Hello friends and family,             We have successfully completed the second month and the first module (there are four modules total)! The days are getting longer and longer here and I feel that summer will be here before we know it. This past month has been interesting as we all have finished settling in and are finding how we all fit as we do life with each other.  If any of you have ever lived in community then you may know some of the joys and, dare I say it, sorrows that this type of living can bring. However it’s always worth it if we can help build up more considerate and community minded people in this world.             As well as enjoying my staff duties I have also started an online course to become certified to teach English as a second language (shout out to the donor who made that happen). Hello dear friends and family,             The first month is complete only five more to go! So far the students have a full three weeks under their belts and are settling in well. We have nine students, from all over America and one local. They range in age from 20’s to 50’s. As their staff it is very exciting to see them be exposed to new knowledge, not only in midwifery but in global issues affecting women, children and families all over the world. They are currently learning how to use midwifery as a form of community development here in the USA as well as overseas. I’m excited to see how the rest of the program will go, and to help them along in this journey.             I myself have been settling back into my community and church family here. Hello dear friends and family,             Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Wow time has really flown by. I have enjoyed my time in Washington doing life again with my mom, dad and grandma. It has been a sweet time to revisit one of my childhood homes and realize just how far I have come over the years. It’s also been a time to allow me to dream about the future and seek God in the direction he is leading me (I only wish I knew what the future looked like!).             I was able to get a seasonal job with one of the nation’s biggest parcel delivery companies. It was an experience to say the least but it kept me busy and away from sitting behind a computer screen. It also helped me see the effects of consumerism first hand but that’s a thought for another day! I’ve already returned to Alaska. I’ll be in town till the 7 th and then I will be driving down to Homer. Homer...
