December Update

Hello dear friends and family,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Wow time has really flown by. I have enjoyed my time in Washington doing life again with my mom, dad and grandma. It has been a sweet time to revisit one of my childhood homes and realize just how far I have come over the years. It’s also been a time to allow me to dream about the future and seek God in the direction he is leading me (I only wish I knew what the future looked like!).
I was able to get a seasonal job with one of the nation’s biggest parcel delivery companies. It was an experience to say the least but it kept me busy and away from sitting behind a computer screen. It also helped me see the effects of consumerism first hand but that’s a thought for another day! I’ve already returned to Alaska. I’ll be in town till the 7th and then I will be driving down to Homer. Homer is about a 4.5 to 5 hour drive south of Anchorage, this time of year I hope the roads and mountain passes will not be a problem, please pray travel goes without a hitch.
One of my main jobs as staff will be to disciple the students and help them grow in not only knowledge of midwifery but in faith as well. I will also be helping train them for life on the mission field, how to work in different cultures other than their own and how to properly research the different locations they may want to minister to. The main focus of the school is to build Godly midwives who will use midwifery to spread the gospel either on a foreign field or in their own home towns. I personally hope to use this training to reach the unreached. My long term goal would be to work somewhere in central Asia working with those in the mountain regions or the plains, where medical access is limited or nonexistent, but for now I’m content to get experience stateside.
For now I am asking for your support. I will need lots of prayer. Homer as some of you may know is pretty spiritual. It has been home to cults, new age, transient peoples and the misguided. I have been making some connections already in the town and hope to have more opportunities to share the Bible with them. Also just staffing as you may know can be very exhausting and challenging.
I also will need around $7,000 for my time there. Homer isn’t the cheapest place to live in Alaska and for my time there this money will cover all my expenses. This expenses include; rent, food, transportation, staff fees, food, internet, health insurance and some extra so I may occasionally bless people with cups of coffee/tea/hot chocolate. I will be living on the YWAM base so that helps keep costs down. You can write a check straight to me or go the tax deductible route.

Tax deductible route: To give this way simply follow this link and click on the give now button.
