Last day in Nepal
Well this is it my last day in Nepal! I cannot believe that
it is here! These past two weeks have been amazing. We were able to work with
my friend and her nonprofit organization that helps provided a better life and
income for sexually exploited women. Every morning we would do prayer and
devotion time with them and it was amazing to see how much God has been working
in these women’s lives. These women who have gone through so much trauma and
hardship can still find the strength to smile and love others regardless of
what has happened in their past. God knows how hard is must have been for them.
My team and I did a lot of organizational stuff for them and I know it was a
blessing. In my opinion our time with them went by way to fast.
Our last week was debrief week. Some of our time was spent
in Chitwan National Park but was cut short due to a transportation strike.
While there we were able to ride an elephant and a dugout canoe and do a jungle
walk. These were pretty relaxing besides the jungle walk. It was pretty hot and
humid and our guide threw a stick at a wild rhino and it ran through the thick
grass, we thought it was running at us and we all took off running in different
directions. I had never been so scared in my life.
As my time here in Nepal comes to a close it is easy to
become excited when I think about how life will be back in a developed nation,
running water, reliable power clean streets, but I need to remember all the
good things God has done for me. This has been the hardest thing I have ever
had to do, but I have learned so much and God has revealed himself to me in
ways I would have never thought possible. I have been so blessed by all the
people I have met here in Nepal. God has given me a heart for this nation and
for his children here, for me it will be hard to leave, but I cannot wait to
tell God’s testimony of his goodness and power to my friends and family back
home!
