September Update!

Hello dear friends and family,
I’m over half way done with my training here in Homer, AK! Every week I am learning more and more about birth and pregnancy, as well as God’s faithfulness. As some of you already know I am always looking forward to the mission field. Sometimes God leads me in ways that I do not understand; for example leading me to midwifery! It seems like an uphill battle most of the time but God is right there next to me helping me climb that hill.
I have connected with an amazing little church here in Homer, well its actually across the bay. There is a church boat that comes and picks us up and takes us all to church. This summer we have been having sermons on the Holy Spirit and I have found them to be very challenging and timely, just what I need.
Some of you have been asking what’s next, well let me tell you that I am not sure. After my studies here in Homer (it ends November 18th) I plan on going to my parents’ home in Washington for the holiday season to rest and spend time processing and praying about the future. I will then need to do an internship with a midwife here in the USA which should last me a couple years. After that I will then take a test to become a certified midwife. It will cost a lot of money and take time to meet all the requirements, but I’m fully confident that God will provide and allow me to finish exactly when he wants me to!

**Prayer requests: It is becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive to become a midwife in the USA due to lack of funding by the state and maybe even some skewed views on midwifery. I ask that you would pray for the midwifery community here in Alaska and that there would be unity and respect between all. Please pray that I would encounter people to share the love of God with!
**For those of you interested in partnering with me financially I finally have it figured out!
Unfortunately due to legal reasons none of it will be tax deductible. I still need $1,500 to finish up my midwifery missionary training here in Homer. You can write checks to: YWAM Arctic Mercy. Please do not write anything on the memo line. Make sure to include a note that it is for Kylee Nicholas. Please mail to:
