Some Changes.


Hey church family. Some of you might be wondering why I have not updated my other blog for a while. The simple answer is because I cannot access it in Nepal, there is something weird about web restrictions or something along those lines. So I have made the move to blog here!

As you may know I have been interning with Youth With A Mission in Oxford, New Zealand since September 1, 2012. I was originally supposed to be working in the office and complete my eight month long internship there. After a week being in New Zealand God gave me a different vision of how I would spend my time with YWAM. I joined the staff of the Justice Discipleship Training School. I have been very busy but have loved my time thus far. Some of my duties have included teaching a lesson on intercessory prayer, leading prayer times for our school, being in charge of a small group of five girls and conducting one-on-ones with them. I also planned all our weekend activities as well as lead a Friday night outreach group (we would go to the city of Christchurch and pray for people on the streets). And on top of all this I am doing school full time.

In December I will be heading to Nepal. I am leading an outreach team of seven students and we will be there until March 8, 2013. I am very excited to see what God has in store for us.

Feb. 2017 update

Hello friends and family,             We have successfully completed the second month and the first module (there are four modules total)! The days are getting longer and longer here and I feel that summer will be here before we know it. This past month has been interesting as we all have finished settling in and are finding how we all fit as we do life with each other.  If any of you have ever lived in community then you may know some of the joys and, dare I say it, sorrows that this type of living can bring. June 2017 Update

Hello friends and family, Happy Summer! We have done it, we have made it to the end. This is the last week of GoMidwife Homer, AK 2017. We graduate the students on Thursday the 29 th and everyone will be heading their separate ways by July 1 st . It has been an interesting six months and God has grown me a lot though this past year. As far as staff duties it has been one of the easiest staff jobs I have had, but in regards to interpersonal relationships it has been the most difficult, but God is always faithful and he always brings life and healing if we allow him. I have grown to love Homer, AK and have been involved in an amazing church here. It will be so difficult to leave this place, but I am excited for the future and what God has in store for me next. So, what is next for Kylee? Well I am planning on leaving Homer on July 2 and moving back to Eagle River. Two years later or April Update

Hello friends and family,              *Ok warning. Please bear with me on this one. I’ve already wrote and rewrote this letter three times. It’s hard when you have so much to say to condense it to what you are about to read. April 25, 2015. Two years ago. Man I cannot believe it’s been two years already. I was in Kathmandu, Nepal in a hotel garden when the 7.8 earthquake hit. It happened on a Saturday which was my day off. I had plans to go to this older part of town where the houses are hundreds if not thousands of years old to explore and take photos. God had other plans however. Beauty for Ashes, the company I was volunteering with at the time, had set up a booth at a local celebration for the Dutch expats. I was not required to help since it was my day off but I felt strongly that I was to give up my day off and help. Thank God literally, for the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
