Changes


Hey guys,

I hope you are all doing amazing! Here is a mini update; so some big changes are headed my way. First off my job role has changed yet again while being here. I am no longer assistant to the base director, personnel or office manager. They have transferred me into being office reception, outreach coordinator and head of maintenance. Pretty crazy change I know but they did it for a good reason. That reason is because I will no longer be working with YWAM Redding after this coming December 2014. This means I will no longer be going to Hawaii in November or working with this base after December 2014.

Originally I was maybe going to be assistant leading a discipleship training school (DTS) in January, but have felt uneasy about that. I took a week to fast and pray and God revealed to me that I was not supposed to lead the DTS. Instead I will be moving to Nepal for a year to work with Beauty for Ashes (BFA). BFA is a non-profit organization that provides jobs for women who have been sexually exploited. This is one of the organizations that I worked with back in 2012-2013 when I lead an outreach to Nepal. I will have more detailed info about this in the months to come, so look out for that!

Feb. 2017 update

Hello friends and family,             We have successfully completed the second month and the first module (there are four modules total)! The days are getting longer and longer here and I feel that summer will be here before we know it. This past month has been interesting as we all have finished settling in and are finding how we all fit as we do life with each other.  If any of you have ever lived in community then you may know some of the joys and, dare I say it, sorrows that this type of living can bring. June 2017 Update

Hello friends and family, Happy Summer! We have done it, we have made it to the end. This is the last week of GoMidwife Homer, AK 2017. We graduate the students on Thursday the 29 th and everyone will be heading their separate ways by July 1 st . It has been an interesting six months and God has grown me a lot though this past year. As far as staff duties it has been one of the easiest staff jobs I have had, but in regards to interpersonal relationships it has been the most difficult, but God is always faithful and he always brings life and healing if we allow him. I have grown to love Homer, AK and have been involved in an amazing church here. It will be so difficult to leave this place, but I am excited for the future and what God has in store for me next. So, what is next for Kylee? Well I am planning on leaving Homer on July 2 and moving back to Eagle River. Two years later or April Update

Hello friends and family,              *Ok warning. Please bear with me on this one. I’ve already wrote and rewrote this letter three times. It’s hard when you have so much to say to condense it to what you are about to read. April 25, 2015. Two years ago. Man I cannot believe it’s been two years already. I was in Kathmandu, Nepal in a hotel garden when the 7.8 earthquake hit. It happened on a Saturday which was my day off. I had plans to go to this older part of town where the houses are hundreds if not thousands of years old to explore and take photos. God had other plans however. Beauty for Ashes, the company I was volunteering with at the time, had set up a booth at a local celebration for the Dutch expats. I was not required to help since it was my day off but I felt strongly that I was to give up my day off and help. Thank God literally, for the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
