December Update


Dear friends and family,

Merry late Christmas and Happy New Year! I am currently at my parents’ home in Northern Washington. Here I have been visiting with family and friends, relaxing and preparing for my year in Nepal. As some of you have heard I will be moving to Nepal January 20th 2015. My time serving in Redding, CA has come to an end, the school I was supposed to co-lead got canceled (as a result I never went to Hawaii, Turkey or Lebanon as originally planned!). I will still be working with YWAM in Nepal and look forward to a different role there.

I will also be working for an organization called Beauty for Ashes. This business provides opportunity and discipleship to women previously trafficked into sexual slavery, those who have been exploited and women at risk. I will be assisting in administration and discipleship of the ladies on a daily basis. I will also have to chance to do regular evangelism and I am hoping to lead a women’s Bible study. I am very excited to go back to Nepal and work alongside some of the ministries I worked with in the past while there.

Some changes with support. I am no longer able to receive support through YWAM Denver all support sent to them will be returned to sender. However you can send support to me through Beauty For Ashes.

Feb. 2017 update

Hello friends and family,             We have successfully completed the second month and the first module (there are four modules total)! The days are getting longer and longer here and I feel that summer will be here before we know it. This past month has been interesting as we all have finished settling in and are finding how we all fit as we do life with each other.  If any of you have ever lived in community then you may know some of the joys and, dare I say it, sorrows that this type of living can bring. June 2017 Update

Hello friends and family, Happy Summer! We have done it, we have made it to the end. This is the last week of GoMidwife Homer, AK 2017. We graduate the students on Thursday the 29 th and everyone will be heading their separate ways by July 1 st . It has been an interesting six months and God has grown me a lot though this past year. As far as staff duties it has been one of the easiest staff jobs I have had, but in regards to interpersonal relationships it has been the most difficult, but God is always faithful and he always brings life and healing if we allow him. I have grown to love Homer, AK and have been involved in an amazing church here. It will be so difficult to leave this place, but I am excited for the future and what God has in store for me next. Two years later or April Update

Hello friends and family,              *Ok warning. Please bear with me on this one. I’ve already wrote and rewrote this letter three times. It’s hard when you have so much to say to condense it to what you are about to read. April 25, 2015. Two years ago. Man I cannot believe it’s been two years already. I was in Kathmandu, Nepal in a hotel garden when the 7.8 earthquake hit. It happened on a Saturday which was my day off. I had plans to go to this older part of town where the houses are hundreds if not thousands of years old to explore and take photos. God had other plans however. Beauty for Ashes, the company I was volunteering with at the time, had set up a booth at a local celebration for the Dutch expats.
