November Update
Dear friends and family,
Wow
so much has been happened this month! During my time here I have been taking a
course called the Apostolic Missions Course. It is focused on understanding
Islam and ways in which to reach them for Christ. The short of it is just being
bold and share your faith; there is no reason to hide it! The world’s problem
is not Muslims its nominal Christians who are too scared to share their faith!!
We also received training on how to reach Muslims from Georges Houssney. He
works for and founded Horizons International. He is originally from Lebanon and
has spent the majority of his life reaching out to the Muslim community,
training up missionaries and speaking out against the “insider” movement in the
Middle East.
This
month three other staff and I went on what is called a “faith outreach”. This
is based off of Luke 9:1-9 and Matthew 10, where Jesus sends out the disciples
into the towns with nothing but the clothes on their back. The team and I did
just this; we brought no money or food and minimal clothing. We felt like God
was calling us to Sacramento and the San Francisco bay area to reach out to the
Muslim populations there. God provided all of our needs, the gas to get there
and back, every meal and a place to stay every night. God even provided us with
simple pleasures like shampoo and conditioner, coffee and hot showers every
morning.
We even saw two people
get healed through prayer. One young man had been deaf in his left ear since an
IED blew up near him while in Afghanistan. We prayed over him and his ear
became healed!! Another guy had some muscle damage in his shoulder and was in
constant pain, after we prayed for him the pain was gone and his shoulder was
healed!! Praise God for these two miracles. We did not see anyone come to
Christ but we did share the gospel with many Muslims and non-Muslims alike. My
favorite part was meeting with so many international Christians and getting to
pray Korean style with Koreans!
This month has been so
full on and such a blessing. I fly to my parents’ home in Northern Washington
to surprise my family for Thanksgiving. It was a nice break to relax, enjoy my
family, give thanks and get prospective for the future events to come. Thank
you all so much for your continued prayer and support! Feel free to e-mail any
time.
God bless,
Kylee Nicholas
